Miasma Chronicles Launch Trailer 

Miasma Chronicles, the tactical turn-based RPG from The Bearded Ladies, is AVAILABLE NOW. Set in the near future, following the fallout of a devastating environmental apocalypse, we join Elvis and Diggs, two unlikely brothers on a journey of discovery – across a ‘New-America – ripped apart by a savage force known as the ‘Miasma.  

• Experience real time stealth, allowing you to pick off your enemies one by one, evening combat battles in your favour.  
• Test your tactical skills while utilising the brother’s distinct arsenal; from Elvis’ Power Glove to the Bouncer (does exactly what it says on the tin) and adapting their abilities with a new RAGE system to really get those critical kills!
• Skill up using your characters exclusive Skill Deck. Allowing you to take advantage of their unique abilities and adapting them to your needs on the fly.

Physical versions will be available from June 9th (EU) and June 20th (NA). This edition will also include an Artbook and Elvis Mine Technician Suit and Diggs’ Mine Rescue Shell.

Fearless, Impulsive and maybe a bit too cocky, Diggs is a robot overflowing with personality, but being in a town where machines are used as tools for work, is there a place out there for him?  

Before Elvis’ mother left, she re-programmed Diggs to protect and raise Elvis as his brother and mentor as she wasn’t going to be around. Over the years, Diggs’ methods of raising Elvis have been ‘questionable’. Leading Elvis through deadly fire fights, taking stupid risks all while having the time of his life. 

Regardless of all his faults, Diggs is Elvis’ “big brother”, partner-in-crime and trusted protector with the strength and heart to back it up. He might be a machine, but he’s the only family Elvis has got.

But that’s not all… Miasma Chronicles will also be getting a physical edition, including art book and two skins for Elvis and Diggs – Elvis’ Mine Technician Suit and Diggs’ Mine Rescue Shell. The physical edition will be available at your favourite retailers in Europe from June 9th and North America from June 20th.

Since dropping the release date trailer and subsequently, the recent news, we’ve received loads of questions from all over the world wanting to know everything there is to know about Miasma Chronicles. So, as we are now around 5 weeks away, we felt now would be the perfect time to answer some of your Frequently Asked Questions.

What is Miasma Chronicles? 

Miasma Chronicles is an intensive tactical RPG, from The Bearded Ladies (the team that bought you Mutant Year Zero). Set shortly after an environmental renaissance, we join Elvis and Diggs, two brothers on a journey of discovery through the heart of a ‘New-America’ which has been torn-apart by a devastating force known only as the ‘Miasma’.  

By “RPG” – we mean “RPG”. Miasma Chronicles has a heavy focus on RPG players, with familiar gameplay that players will enjoy; Exploration, Skill Upgrades, Customisation and a heart-warming and engaging narrative. 

 

Wait?! Is this turn-based? Why turn-based?! 

Miasma Chronicles has been designed as an homage to PS1 RPGs of old (Xenogears, Final Fantasy etc). It’s the type of games we love to play –and love to make.  

It’s predominantly a tactical game that will test your skills, but you will also explore a variety of environments from small towns, sprawling forests and giant industrial cities – meeting weird and wonderful characters along the way as you play through the deep narrative. 

Combat is turn-based. This allows for the player to think about their next move before going in and blowing themselves up. The enemies in Miasma Chronicles can be challenging, so allowing you to adapt, use your environment and the vast array of weapons and skills to take down your enemies is very rewarding. 

 

Will there be multiplayer? 

No. Miasma Chronicles is a single player game. However, we have had a lot of fun as a team all sat on a couch with our friends and discussing the next moves.

When will Miasma Chronicles launch? 

Miasma Chronicles will launch on digitally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Epic Games from May 23rd, 2023.

Will Miasma Chronicles support Turkish language. 

Unfortunately, not at this time. Miasma Chronicles will not support the Turkish language. Does  

 

Miasma Chronicles require an internet connection to play? 

Good news everyone! Miasma Chronicles doesn’t require an internet connection to play, but please make sure that the game is up-to-date. 

 

Is Miasma Chronicles compatible with Mac or Linux? 

No. Miasma Chronicles isn’t compatible with Mac or Linux. 

 

What FPS does Miasma Chronicles run at? 

Miasma Chronicles will run at 60FPS across all platforms. 

 

Will Miasma Chronicles support Ray Tracing? 

Unfortunately, no. Miasma Chronicles will not support Ray Tracing. 

 

Will there be a Performance and Fidelity Mode? 

Not specifically. There will be a number of menu options which will help to suit every platform. Whether the emphasis is on visuals or on performance.

Does the PC version of Miasma Chronicles support modding tools? 

No. Miasma Chronicles won’t support any modding tools. 

 

Will the PC version of Miasma Chronicles support keyboard and mouse for PC? 

Yes. Miasma Chronicles will support keyboard and mouse! 

 

Does Miasma Chronicles have controller support for PC? 

Yes. Miasma Chronicles for both Steam and Epic Games, will support controllers. 

 

Does the PC version of Miasma Chronicles support Ultrawide monitors? 

Yes. Miasma Chronicles supports both Ultrawide and 4K screens. 

 

Does Miasma Chronicles support NVIDIA GeForce Now? 

No Miasma Chronicles won’t support NVIDA GeForce Now. 

 

Where are Miasma Chronicles game saves stored when playing on a PC? 

Game saves will be stored locally on your device 

 

Will the PC version of Miasma Chronicles support Steam trading cards and Steam Points? 

No. Miasma Chronicles won’t support Steam Trading Cards or Steam Points. 

 

Will there be Steam Backgrounds and Emoticons available for Miasma Chronicles? 

Not initially. But this is something that we will be working on after launch. 

 

PlayStation Questions 

Will Miasma Chronicles be available on both PS4 and PS5? 

Miasma Chronicles will only be available on PlayStation 5. 

 

Will Miasma Chronicles support Trophies? If so, does it have a Platinum? 

Yes. Miasma Chronicles will support trophies and include a Platinum trophy for all you trophy hunters. 

 

How does Miasma Chronicles use the DualSense? 

Miasma Chronicles will use all features of the DualSense. Including Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers 

 

Will Miasma Chronicles use any PS Plus features? 

Not at launch. Miasma Chronicles will not include any Game Help nor will it be included within the PS Plus Catalogues. 

 

Xbox Questions 

What is the highest GamerScore I can get while playing Miasma Chronicles? 

You can get up to 1000 Achievement points! 

 

Will Miasma Chronicles be on Xbox Game Pass?

Today, as part of the Future Games Show, we’re excited to share the Official Release Date Trailer. 

During the trailer, we meet Elvis, Diggs and Jade deep into their journey to find Elvis’ mother. While a mysterious voice shares how the Miasma has twisted this once beautiful country into a barren wasteland.  

As a reminder, digital players will be able to get their hands on Miasma Chronicles, across all platforms, from May 23rd.
